We have five girls . The oldest is 17 and the youngest is 6 years.

My husband and his family desperately wanted a boy and they don’t hide their disappointment that I didn’t give birth to one.

It was okay when this was directed at me but now even the girls are being made to feel like they are not children.

Their father insults them and always wishes loudly that he had a boy child instead of them.

I always counter such statements with words of affirmation for the girls but I know their father’s words hurt them.

Everytime I try to talk to him about it, he shuts me up. How do I protect my children?
